Blue Sky Scientific technology is at the heart of the Spirit Labs distillery automation system. Incorporating BTLE in a distributed sensing network has allowed Spirit Labs customers the ability to remotely monitor and interact with their distilleries in real time. Optical switching allows maximal-rate fiber network data to be switched without the need for digitizing the signal in the switching hardware, allowing the largest-scale, highest-rate enterprise installations to achieve new levels of performance.
Blue Sky Scientific was tasked with designing and implementing the software for the newest line of optical switching products released by a cutting-edge MEMS-based optical switching startup.
Detecting the newest generation of ultra-quiet (diesel-electric) submarines is one of the Navy’s “toughest problems.” In one year, Blue Sky Scientific members modified and enhanced existing sonobuoy hardware, designed and developed a communications network, data management system, signal processing, tracking system, and graphical user interface, and finally conducted sea-trials of the system. The final demonstration achieved real-time submarine tracking of unprecedented accuracy on a previously undetectable target, achieving better performance than several long-running (10 year) submarine detection programs.
The novel design of the Kestrel sensor allows operators to continuously monitor up to 100 square kilometers of terrain using a single aerostat-mounted payload.
